Update on our Sept 29th Polo Event

The tournament has morphed into being a POLO PARTY for all members and friends of the Ottawa Manotick Polo Club as well as people from Cedar Valley if they should choose to come.

Please note: it will be on SATURDAY …. start time approx 3pm.

We will play polo at that time, throw-in at 3pm. For the lessors, there are no reserved horses. Instead, I’ll schedule it so there’s a round-robin so everyone gets a turn. There’s a few new people who are beginners, they will have a turn, too!

Then we’ll have a few drinks and then head off to the pub to continue celebrations. People who bring their own horses can leave them in stalls with water and hay if they would like to.

This event will be held RAIN or SHINE. If it’s not nice, we can play indoors.

There is no fee to attend this event though volunteer efforts and contributions are always welcome.

We can also play on Sunday at the usual time, 3pm.

Directions to our Charity Event Today

A group of ottawa manotick polo players as well as our good buddy Phil from Cedar Valley Polo Club in Markham are descending on the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum today to participate in a charity polo match which will raise a TON OF CASH for The Ottawa Boys and Girls Club.

Weather’s a bit bleak, ok, well it’s thundering and wet, but we’re having it RAIN OR SHINE.

So, if you’re brave, or as crazy as we are, … come on out.

I think the throw-in is at approximately 11:30 or a bit after.

Week of June 25th – Activities

We all had a fun time this weekend. Polo on friday, saturday morning, and again Sunday afternoon (we didn’t get rained one, well not much).  Lots of horseback riding, friends, learning, nice weather… that’s what summer means!

HUGE THANKS to Jeremy and Anne-Marie and Steve for the barbecue after — what a pleasant surprise!

This coming week we got, guess what, more of the same!!!  Here’s some early notice on some things to note in your calendar:

1) Phil, his friends and family will be in town to play on Sunday.

2) We’re going to move next Sunday’s chukkas earlier in the day so people have time to partake of the July 1st celebrations that evening. Let me know if a noon start time doesn’t work for you.

3) Now that summer is here, camp is starting.  That means on several weekday mornings, you can probably play and learn polo or work on your riding skills.  There’s nothing formal to arrange, just send me an email ( wyaternick at hotmail dot com) a day or two before.

And, way off in the distance, we’ve pencilled in Saturday September 8th for the “near the end of the year end club” club tournament. Of course all people should participate plus it’ll be a pot luck party.

This week, we’ll be planning beginner chukkas on Tuesday and Friday nites.  On Wednesday, we’ll have our usual club chukkas with mixed beginner and faster polo. Not sure what’s happening saturday — we’ll see where the crowd takes us.

Happy riding!
