We’re organizing a “for fun” polo weekend on June 8, 9, and 10 in conjunction with the Cedar Valley Polo Club from Markham/Newmarket.
About 30 people from Toronto will come to Ottawa and play at our club on those days.
EXPERIENCED PLAYERS
If you are an experienced player who wants to play lots of polo, the fee is $100.
You’ll be placed into one of four evenly matched teams.
You get four chukkers on friday night.
You get four chukkers on saturday at 1pm.
If your team does well, you get four more at 3pm.
You also get four chukkers on Sunday at eleven AM.
* times and structure subject to change (slightly, depending on numbers)
These are umpired chukkers and you’ll be be a member of a inter-club team (designed so the teams are balanced).
The fee also gets you a catered dinner and saturday evening entertainment (including a rented bull riding machine)
BEGINNER PLAYERS
If you are new to riding and polo, then we’re having coached chukkers just for you.
Experienced players will be on hand to give you advice and cheer you on.
You’ll get to play twice in slow-paced games and receive advice in real-time from a professional polo player during the entire game.
It’s a great learning / practice / getting experience exercise and is highly recommended.
The fee for this is only $50 for friday at 6:30 and then you stick around to enjoy the fast-paced action at 7.
You can also come for saturday at noon for an additional $50 and then, again, stick around for the fast-paced action all afternoon and the party on Saturday night.
If you do either Friday or Saturday, you can also play for free on Sunday at approximately 2pm (when the fast games end).
In other words, your total cost is $100 to get that great experience and advice, three chances to play polo, including the party.
EVEN IF YOU HAVEN’T TRIED POLO YET, THIS WOULD BE AN AWESOME TIME TO TRY IT — TOTAL IMMERSION !!!
Extra tickets for your guests at the party are available at $30/person (covers food and mech-bull).
There’s approximately 30 people coming from Toronto so we already have a great deal of momentum!
